Neotango Ganchos
Ganchos are very playful and fun Neotango elements. When we have space we can do high swinging ganchos with a specific technique. But we can also make ganchos that fit in crowded neolongas. Nevertheless, it’s still important to make them save for yourself and the people around you. In this workshop you will learn the technique of how to use your legs to make them properly, how to lead and follow them, how to apply them with different types of the music, and creative combinations that use ganchos in a modern way.
Sunday Workshop 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM hrs
Fancy Colgadas
In this workshop you will learn how to use Colgadas to enrich your Neotango style. Colgadas are movements where the couple dances for a moment out of the axis. You will learn the basic technique of hanging together to find your balance, trusting each other, feeling safe, how to lead and follow it and how to do a turning colgada. This will be taught in a step by step way, with a logical preparation and a playful atmosphere. We will focus on Colgadas that can also be done in crowded neolongas, that are fancy and feel good to do. Colgadas are beautiful, exciting and fun!

When everyone is fully in the moment, immersed in the music, with their dance partner, and connected to all the other dancers, the visuals become like a nest in which we all find ourselves. This is when a meditative journey can begin, one that keeps unfolding – diverse yet connecting everyone with everyone else. These are the moments I love at Neotango events. Sometimes it’s easy to reach that state, and sometimes it’s an interesting, slightly longer path. There’s only one thing that’s even better: experiencing it all with live music.
