Organisation

Tango Now is a dance organization directed by Ezequiel Sanucci & Lydia Müller. It goal is to teach and perform the Argentinean tango of today, as well as transforming it in a creative and new way. Tango Now searches for the most updated version of traditional tango and works on discovering new possibilities of neo-tango, contact tango and contemporary tango. Tango Now presents traditional Argentine tango shows and contemporary tango productions, choreographies and tango street theater acts. Performances can be booked with or without live music, tango orchestra and/or tango DJ. Ezequiel & Lydia teach group classes, private classes and workshops of traditional Argentine tango, neo tango, contact tango, contact improvisation and contemporary dance. Tango Now organizes tango salons, jams and events as well in combination with workshops and performances. Tango Now works for theaters, festivals, (tango) schools, dance academies, dance companies, milongas, events, entertainment and business companies.

Ezequiel Sanucci & Lydia Müller are professional dancers, teachers and choreographers in Argentine tango, contemporary dance, ballet and contact improvisation. They are directors of the company Tango Now where they make their own tango dance theatre productions. At Academia de Tango in Amsterdam & Flor de Fango in Arnhem they are teaching regularly tradiltional and neo tango classes, they are guest teachers at Codarts, and they teach workshop at other tango schools, dance academies, dance companies, festivals and events.

Ezequiel and Lydia they studied Argentine tango in Buenos Aires with Gustavo Naveira, Leonardo Cuello, Dana Frigoli and Jorge “El Pardo” Vieyra. In 2012 they got a scholarship for artistic development form the Fonds Podiumkunsten to follow professional tango studies in Buenos Aires for 6 month. In this period they studied traditional, neo and performing tango with well-known tango teachers at a professional level.

Ezequiel and Lydia performed as Argentine tango dancers at major festivals, theaters and milongas in Europe and Latin America as: Club Villa Malcolm, Festival Cambalache in Buenos Aires; Muziektheater Amsterdam, Festival Mundial, Taboe Tango, Argentinean Embassy in The Netherlands; TangoGreece Festival in Athens; and Phantastango in Germany, among others. They performed together with orchestras such as Alfredo Marcucci, Sexteto Milonguero and Trasnoche. In 2013 they performed tango at the celebrations of the coronation of the king Willem Alexander and queen Máxima. As contemporary dancers Ezequiel & Lydia have been working since many years with well-known dance companies in Europe.

Based on the knowledge they have in different dance styles, they did intensive dance research to developed their own cross-over style between tango, contemporary dance, ballet, contact improvisation and theatre. In 2010 they won the 1st prize for best choreography at Rabotheater Open Podium Twente in The Netherlands.

Ezequiel Sanucci was born in Buenos Aires and he grew up with the tango music and culture. Ezequiel started studying ballet, tango and Argentinean folklore at the age of 12 at the school of Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. At the age of 17 he started a long carrier as a soloist ballet and contemporary dancer in Argentina, The Netherlands, Germany, Switserland, France and Spain. He worked with Internationaal Danstheater, LeineRoebana, Korzo Producties, Lonneke van Leth, Ballet del Teatro Colón, Stadttheater Luzern, amoung many other dance companies and choreographers. He combined his contemporary dance career with his professional tango career by performing and teaching at major tango festivals.

Since 2008 he started his research about the cross-over between tango, contemporary dance, ballet, contact improvisation and theater, creating his own Contemporary Tango style. At this moment he is fully dedicated to teach and perform Argentine tango, contemporary tango and contact tango, to DJ, and to choreograph tango dance theater pieces. Sinds 2009 he has been working intensively together with Lydia Müller. Dancer / Teacher / Choreographer / Director / Founder

Lydia Müller is a professional dancer and dance teacher based in Amsterdam. She moved from Germany to the Netherlands to study 4 years Contemporary dance at Codarts, Dance Academy Rotterdam.

Sinds then she has been working as professional contemporary dancer in several dance companies as De Dansers / Wies Merkx, Danstheater Adentro / Relinde Moors, Danstheater VOS, Rob List, Stg.Mint among others in the Netherlands and abroad. As well Lydia has being working in street theater companies as Tukkers Connection, Teatro Pavana and De Directie “Was XL”. Lydia has been teaching Argentine tango, contact improvisation, contemporary dance, contact tango, African dance, yoga and more from children to adults. Lydia’s quality in teaching is to guide the whole group into a journey of creativity, playfulness and enthusiasm.

Lydia is an creative person expressing herself through dance, movement, improvisation, playing violin and being an enthusiast pure human being. Sinds 2009 she has been working intensively together with Ezequiel Sanucci. They founded Tango Now and did much more. Here you can read about them.
